"All the memories that are hidden in our home are proof that we've loved each other until now"

Eun-Su (Mi-Yeon Lee) has a perfect life. She lives with her perfect husband, Ho-Jin (Eol Lee) and his younger brother, Dae-Jin (Byung-hun Lee). Ho-Jin is a successful carpenter and Dae-Jin is a racecar driver. One day this is all changed when Ho-Jin and Dae-Jin are simultaneously involved in car accidents. Dae-Jin's on the racetrack and Ho-Jin's in a cab on his way to see his brothers race. Dae-Jin survives and is brought back home. Eun-Su soon starts noticing strange behavior in Dae-Jin. He starts to take in his brothers responsibilities and interests. Taking up carpentry, cooking, gardening. When asked about his strange behavior, Dae-Jin insists that he is Ho-Jin. This becomes very hard on Eun-Su and Ye-Jin (Seon-yeong Park), Dae-Jin's long time admirer. Could Ho-Jin be trapped in Dae-Jin's body? Or could Dae-Jin be so over come with grief that this is his way of mourning his brother's loss?

This movie messed me up. I didn't know what to think at first. The beginning is a little meh. The romance between Ho-Jin and Eun-Su is cute and a bit cheesy at times. I normally don't dig romance so it was probably a little too much on the cute side for me. On a second viewing, I appreciate the first part a little more. Any other parts I found awkward were explained later in the film and I can't think of how they could have been made less awkward. The acting also slowly builds. It starts out a bit odd and at first I wasn't sure about the actors. As the movie went on, I found myself very caught up in these peoples emotions. I was hurt, confused, and lost along with Eun-Su, Dae-Jin, and Ye-Jin. The score was minimal and I love the sombre theme.

Addicted is a hard movie for me to review without giving anything away. It's a very moving romance and if you like your romances dark/tragic, I highly recommend. Be sure to have tissues handy.

Favorite Scenes:
There are many, but I'll go with
~ all the scenes with Ye-Jin. I felt for the girl. When she said her final goodbye to who she knew as Dae-Jin made me nervous. I really watch way too many horror movies. =P
~ The scene the quote I used was taken from. I was needing some tissue.

What I learned from Addicted:
Cigarette filters also make good ear plugs.

Something to note:
This movie is getting the re-make treatment as Possession starring Sarah Michelle Gellar. Ugh! (The Ugh is directed at the re-make, Not Sarah.)
